Presidential Management Fellowship Update

Congratulations to all of you who completed the assessment. Being nominated by your school is an achievement you should be proud of. Next, you should be receiving notification of your status as a finalist. Historically, this has happened mid-March [Edit: see comments, this year finalists will be notified on or around March 6]. Click here to see last year's finalist letter. The job fair will be at the end of April [Edit: March 24-26] - check out the alumni group's survival guide here.

  1. FYI, This years timeline is a bit different. Finalists are going to be notified in early March ("on or around March 6") and the job fair is scheduled for March 24-26, 2009.

As a nominated fellow, I want to thank you for the periodic updates. Your website has been a great resource for aspiring PMFs like myself. Thank You!

  3. There are current allegations that the PMF office did not send email notifications to the bottom half of the alphabet (Q-Z). I know that I am one of them. More damaging is the nonexistent NOR (notice of results) in the application manager. They have been notified of this issue and have reportedly replied with mixed responses to a number of voiced concerns.

Also, as of 3/9/09 7:00pm PST, there isn't 2009 finalist list posted on the website as previously assured. According to the PMF website, the office has delayed the posting of the finalist list and the announcement to academia (for reasons that are not very clear). So contacting your university is reportedly not an option at this time.

There is a community of people in the same boat gathered at Aaron Helton’s blog discussing this very issue (168 comments). Please if your last name begins with Q-Z, visit the link below and let us know if you have/have not received a response.
